A recent report by the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) revealed that Italy is the favourite destination for luxury travel and services. The ILTM surveyed over 1500 VIP buyers and they all agreed: Italy is number one.

The reason that high-end travellers prefer to go to Italy is the fact that it offers true luxury, not just from the price of the trip, but through the quality of services provided. Italy provides the best that life has to offer, from the fashions of Valentino to the class of Ferrari. And, according to those who were surveyed, the Italians are not posessive of their lifestyle: they offer tourists with open arms and encourage them to share in the Italian (luxurious) way of life.

Other interesting facts from the survey were that travel to the US is rapidly declining due to the many inconveniences experienced at the major airports, which does clearly does not sit well with the luxury traveler. The UK also did badly in the research, as the strenght of the Pound made services too expensive and most people saying they would go to London more often if they didn't have to travel through Heathrow airport.
