Gulf News has reported that Dubai is set to get the world's largest shopping zone. This comes amidst reports that this city will also soon have the world's tallest building and development in this region seems to be never-ending.

This proposed shopping zone will be part of the Dubailand hospitality and retail zone, Bawadi, and will have over 40 million square feet of gross leasable area. This new zone will provide 17 times more retail space than the Mall of the Emirates, which is currently known as the biggest shopping mall in the city.

A Barcelona-based company is planning the launch of the Galactic Suite, a space hotel with an opening date set for 2012. The hotel will combine a space tourism experience with an astronaut training process and also offers a stay on a tropical island.

Guests have the luxury of undergoing the training for their trip on a tropical island, before jetting off into space to go around the world in 80 minutes. The price tag for this vacation isn't small - $4 million for a three-day stay.  This does however include the 18 week training session. Guests will have the chance to orbit the earth 15 times a day, enabling them to see 15 sunrises. Reservations for the hotel can be made already, although the resort is still being developed.
