Sincere opens first of its kind

One of Singapore's largest watch retailers, Sincere Watch Limited, has launched their Sincere Watch Academy, which is dedicated to horological appreciation and education.

Members of the academy can browse catalogues, access the resource library and watch the watchmakers doing restorations. The academy will also offer introductory lectures on horology and present workshops which allow participants to try their hands at different aspects of the craft. Talks will also be given be industry leaders on a regular basis. There will also be organised group trips to well-known watchmaking regions in Switzerland.

Boucheron to start selling their pieces on the web

Luxury jeweler Boucheron has announced that they will be launching a website on which they will be selling their wares, thus joining the trend of luxury groups using e-commerce as a means of direct sales to their customers.

The website is due to launch September 17 and will allow buyers to purchase pieces up to 10 000 euros. If buyers wish to spend more than this, they will be directed to a special telephone line to assist them with their transfer. Alexander Amosu, the London based mobile entrepreneur, is offering a limited edition iPhone with 420 diamonds totaling 5.65 carats set in 18k white or yellow gold, with a choice of white, black or pink sapphires. The Diamond iPhone goes on sale on the 9th of November with a starting price of $41,000. Insurance?
